 General Francisco Burdett O’Connor was a British hero of independence, chief of staff to both Bolivar and Sucre in the campaigns in Peru, Upper Peru (Bolivia) and Argentina. Although related to a great Irish patriot and an English reforming MP, O’Connor settled as a farmer in South America after the dazzling victories of Ayacucho and in the Andean altiplano.
