Gordon Davidson has built up an international reputation for his atmospheric landscapes. Trained at the Glasgow School of Art, he has visited Peru twice to put this exhibition together. Closer to home, he has been presented with the Stella Artois Highly Commended Award for his contributions to the arts in Scotland.

Miguel Alexiades, a highly accomplished anthropologist working in the Peruvian selva, describes his work with the Ese Eja people on the river straddling the border between Peru and Bolivia in one of the most bio-diverse regions on earth.  He describes the unique and intimate relationship that the Ese Eja have to their ancestral homelands, their deep knowledge of their forests and rivers, and their own long and complex history, and the ecological footprints it has left in the forest.

Notice of Annual General Meeting

Members are hereby advised that the Forty-ninth Annual General Meeting of the Anglo-Peruvian Society will be held at the Peruvian Embassy, 52 Sloane Street, London SW1, on Tuesday, 20 April 2010, at 6.30 pm. for the following purposes:

1. To read the Notice convening the Meeting.
2. To approve the Minutes of the Forty-eighth Annual General Meeting held on 26 March 2009.
3. To receive and adopt the Annual Report and Statement of Accounts for the period   ending 31 December 2009.
4. To elect Members of the Executive Committee.
5. To appoint Honorary Auditors.
6. To discuss any other business of which due notice has been given.

The attention of Members is drawn to the following extract from the Rules:

Rule 22

“Any five members desirous of moving a resolution at a General Meeting shall give notice in writing thereof to the Secretary not less than thirty days before the date of the Meeting”

Rule 23

“Any four members of the Society may nominate a candidate for election as an Officer or to the Executive Committee, such nominations to be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least thirty days prior to the Annual General Meeting and the written consent of the nominee shall accompany such a notice”
