THE GOLD MACHINE

with Iain Sinclair

The highly acclaimed writer Iain Sinclair and his daughter Farne plunged into the wild beauty of the Perene tributary of the Apurimac-Ene. They were retracing the journey of his great-grandfather 130 years ago, up foaming rapids and hair-raising mule tracks into Peru’s remote Gran Pajonal. They also studied how the Ashaninka people survived forced labour in coffee plantations, abuse by senderistas, and now narco-traficantes. Sinclair’s book enjoys critical praise, and their feature film about the adventure is being streamed.
