The Anglo Peruvian Society is very pleased to announce a ZOOM lecture on Thursday October 8th at 6pm by Vania Masías, Peru’s prima social entrepreneur.
Returning from a successful classical ballet career in Europe, Vania Masías set herself up in Lima as Peru’s foremost choreographer and social entrepreneur. Founder of the successful dance company D1 (Non Profit Organisation), Vania also encouraged her dancers to set up their own studios - typically in the suburbs of Lima where she first encountered them. She was inspired by their Latino version of street hip hop – for tips at the traffic lights. From there D1 has become a popular performer in London, and opened the PanAmerican Games of 2019 in Lima, to great acclaim!
Vania’s talk sets out the challenges as well as the triumphs in building a viable social enterprise in the arts. With the aim of transforming lives and contributing to the development of their country and the world.
We look forward to welcoming you all to Zoom. Login details to be sent closer to event date.
